Southside Youth

Who we are

The Southside Youth Team is an experienced team of youth workers based across Kingston upon Thames, offering a variety of positive interventions and engagement opportunities for young people who live and/or are educated in the borough.​

What we do

We offer a mixture of positive activities including, but not limited to, sports (football, basketball, archery, badminton etc) arts and crafts, music studio booking for production and vocal recordings as well as DJing, information, advice, guidance and signposting on all areas of young people's lives (such as, employment and benefits, sexual health and substance misuse to name a few).

Where we do it

We deliver our services in a variety of locations including youth centres, local parks, from our youth bus, in schools, sports centres and other community venues.

Kingsnympton Youth and Community Centre

Southside Support (121)

121 support for young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET). We offer support, advice, guidance and practical learning opportunities for young people.

Mondays 12.30pm to 5.20pm @ Kingsnympton Youth and Community Centre, KT27RW

Referral only. Contact us for more information or if you know someone who may benefit from this service. 

Southside Sports (for school years 7-11)

Sporting and social session for young people to participate in a variety of sports including but not limited to football, basketball, badminton, archery and indoor climbing.

Monday 6pm to 8pm @ Kingsnympton Youth and Community Centre, KT27RW

YES (Youth Enquiry Service) bus drop in

The Youth Enquiry Service (YES) Bus is a mobile youth provision that parks in various locations offering information, advice and someone you can talk to on all aspects of your life whether employment, health care (mental and physical), relationships, things to do or anything else. We offer a 1 stop shop  - if we cannot help you we will sign post you to services that can.

Wednesday 1pm - 5pm @ Memorial Square, Kingston, KT1 1RJ

Chessington Sports Centre

Southside Social (for school years 7-11)

Drop in youth club for young people to socialise and engage in positive activities such as sports, games, music, planning trips and more.

Thursday 6.30pm to 8.30pm @ Chessington Sports Centre, KT9 2JS 

Southside BRITE Box delivery

With our partners, Voices of Hope and their BRITE Box project, we deliver food ingredient boxes to families to support healthy cooking, eating and spending time together as a family. 

This is in line with the BRITE Box project key aims which are:

  • Impacting the issue of child food hunger through fun family activity
  • Sparking joy and interest in cooking and eating well
  • Providing children with key cooking skills and the self confidence to use them
  • Bringing families together around food in the home
