Summer Programme 2022

Summer socialisation for teens in Richmond and Kingston Boroughs. Running for four weeks over summer 2022, we are offering an exciting variety of things for young people to do at our two youth centres.

We offer a relaxed and safe space for young people where they can spend their holiday time trying out different activities, making new friends and chatting to friendly youth workers. A healthy nutritious lunch is also provided every day that young people are involved in making. Open to 10 to 16 year olds.

Week 1 - Wednesday 10 to Friday 12 August, 12pm to 4pm
Piper Active Summer Camp - Piper Hall, Piper Road, KT1 3EX

Held at Piper Hall Community Centre, we will have a range of activities running, including:

  • Football and basketball with Brentford Football Club
  • Martial arts with Project X
  • Arts and crafts with Creative Youth
  • Pool, table tennis, gaming, table football, dodgeball etc.
(We will be offering transport from piper Hall to Ham Youth Centre for the following weeks)


Week 2 - Tuesday 16 to Friday 19 August, 12pm to 4pm
Ham Youth Centre Arts Camp - Ham Close, Ham, TW10 7PL

A week focused on enabling young people's creativity through art, music and performance, including:

  • Leather and textile workshops with Makers United
  • Parkour with Movement Toolbox
  • School of Rock where young people form a band and perform a track
  • Orchestra and classical music taster
  • Drama and streetdance tasters
  • Photography
  • Usual activities: pool, table tennis, gaming etc also available


Week 3 - Tuesday 23 to Friday 26 August, 12pm to 4pm
Ham Youth Centre Sports Camp - Ham Close, Ham, TW10 7PL

This week will be having fun playing various sports and boosting young people's fitness

  • Archery
  • Basketball and football
  • Table tennis
  • Dodgeball and benchball
  • Frisbee
  • Tennis and badminton
  • Fencing
  • Grass cyclocross racing (bikes supplied)


Week 4 - Tuesday 30 August to Friday 2 September, Various times
Ham Youth Centre and Piper Hall On Tour

For the final week we will be exploring the local area and getting down with nature. Places will be prioritised for those that have attended regularly over previous weeks.


Activities will include:

  • An orienteering treasure hunt in Richmond Park
  • Bike rides in Richmond Park and Ham Lands
  • Whitewater rafting at Lee Valley Olympic Centre
  • Other trips as they are confirmed
