Mentors are matched with a parent to provide additional support, give advice where necessary and be someone that can listen without bias. Mentors are also given a monthly £10 budget to take their mentees out to a local café. These mentors do not have to have children themselves, but do need to have an understanding of the challenges a parent can face. More important is the ability to listen and empathise.
Mentors meet up with their ‘mentees’ once per week, for an initial three month commitment. We are very flexible on dates for holidays etc, but a regular commitment is important to establish a positive relationship.
Accessibility: Volunteer work takes place at various locations across the boroughs.
