Joe, Rosalind and Max were asked to do a presentation for Express CIC’s event at the Rose Theatre to mark this day. They decided they would like to talk about their experiences of growing up with Autism. Their speeches went down so well they were asked to do it twice more: for full time and then part time members of the Integrated Service for Children with Disabilities at Moor Lane. When they delivered it for the full time members of staff, they agreed we could film it and put it up on the Local Offer Website so even more people can see.

Here you can find their speech broken down into four parts:

  • The introduction
  • Joe' speech, with a focus on education
  • Rosalind's speech, with a focus on her childhood
  • Max's speech, with a focus on work

If you would like to get in touch with them you can email me at: and I will happily pass on any comments or questions you might have.
