What is SEND Futures Kingston?

SEND Futures Kingston is the name for the ongoing work to transform the way in which support for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) is provided in Kingston.

We know that services for children and young people with SEND are chronically underfunded by central government. Councils across the country are struggling to meet the growing gap between local need for services and the inadequate funding provided by government.

What is the latest progress?

The Council, Achieving for Children, Health services and schools have produced a Kingston SEND Transformation Plan. This Plan sets out how we will collectively improve SEND services in Kingston.

The Plan builds on feedback received through a consultation we ran during December 2018 and January 2019.
