Therapy support

Paediatric Therapies in Richmond and Kingston

Therapy services are working closely with the Designated Clinical Officer for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and Achieving for Children (AfC) regarding their response to the changing situation. Decisions around the delivery of services are made based on national guidance from Department for Education (DfE) and NHS England and directives from the different providers.

Given the recent government guidance and increased rates of infection, providers of speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy have been revisiting how they can best support children and young people. This is given the need to restrict contact and the fact there is a possibility that health professionals will be redeployed again as part of the NHS’ response to the Coronavirus outbreak.  In addition, therapists, as everyone else, may be in a position that they are required to self isolate and this may impact delivery. Given the situation, there may be further changes and we will keep the Local Offer updated.
