Contacting the SEND Team

The SEND Team can be contacted via the main contact details as listed below; you will have direct contact with our Coordinator Assistants Team who will signpost you onto the relevant person if they cannot resolve your query.  The Coordinator Assistants can deal with queries such as:

  • Information on where you or your child is in the EHC Needs Assessment process
  • Generic queries in relation to SEND
  • Update on some specific queries and copies of any reports
  • Contact details for your allocated EHCP Coordinator

Roles and Responsibilities:

The SEND Team is responsible for managing requests for an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments and maintaining Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP). 

Coordinator Assistants (CA’s)
  • Are your first point of contact; the CA Team should be able to support with your initial queries in relation to our service
  • Will provide information, guidance and advice to schools, professionals and parents
  • Support the EHCP Coordinators in their day to day management of cases
  • Managed by the Deputy CA and CA Team Manager
EHCP Coordinators (CO’s)
  • Responsible for managing the EHC Needs Assessment process, and following up appropriate actions after an Annual Review
  • Will attend meetings, when required, such as Annual Reviews and Review of Assessment Summary (RAS) meetings
  • Will support in securing schools/placements and support in the transition at every Key Stage
  • Managed by the Senior CO and the Team Managers
Senior EHCP Coordinators
  • Have the same case management responsibility as an EHCP Coordinator however have a reduced caseload to offer direct supervision for some CO’s
  • Will support problem solving, offer advice and guidance and are the next point of contact should things need to be escalated in line with the internal team structure 
  • Managed by the Team Manager
CO and CA Team Managers
  • Ensure that the teams are effectively supporting children, young people and their families and meeting statutory deadlines as identified through staff performance
  • Offer support/training to stakeholders and evaluate the effectiveness of the teams work
  • Advise and support their teams and will become involved if things have not been resolved by the CA/CO or their Seniors in line with the internal team structure
