Description of activity

Bright Heart Education is a London-based tuition agency offering a more nurturing approach to tuition to help students realise their potential.

We focus on helping students with special educational needs, those lacking confidence or motivation and those out of school. Our heart-based approach – the ‘Bright Heart Approach’ – involves meeting the whole person from their unique perspective with warmth to build trust, self-esteem and self-belief, before building on academic abilities.

We carefully match our experienced and trained tutors to students for quality one-to-one private tuition. We also provide online tuition.

Special Educational Needs:

We cover students from primary to A-level and are specialists in learning challenges.

Special educational needs (SEN) we provide tuition for include:

ADHD
Anxiety
Autism Spectrum Condition
Dyscalculia
Dysgraphia
Dyslexia
Dyspraxia
Gender Identity Challenges
General Learning Difficulties
Physical Health Challenges
Sensory Processing Challenges
Social Emotional and Mental Health Challenges

Our Services

We believe that creating a safe emotional space is best for tutoring and offer the first lesson free to help build rapport. This also allows the student and client to make sure that there is a good fit with the tutor.

Our tutors are screened, interviewed in person and background checked. This includes checking qualifications, taking at least two professional references and checking the tutor has in place a clean and current Enhanced DBS. Tutors are provided guidance on safeguarding practices and agree in writing to adhere to our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy. We work with tutors who have patience, understanding and the necessary experience to ensure that sensitive learning situations are handled with care. Our tutors are provided with an exclusive online training course produced by nasen (National Association of Special Educational Needs). The aim of the nasen course is to ensure that tutors understand the importance of meeting the individual learning needs of all our students.

Our primary subject focus is English, Maths and Science, but we aim to meet client requests across most other subjects. We also offer younger students general tuition support, which may take the form of play therapy. We have a platform available for online tutoring for our clients.

Our Clients

We help students from age 4 to 25, some of whom may have special educational needs, be excluded from school or choose home schooling. Some students just need a boost in self-esteem or motivation and we have found our heart-based approach effective in this regard.
