Description of activity
Middlesex Association for the Blind provides support for people with a visual impairment to help them to lead full, active and independent lives. We support people living in the London Boroughs of Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Enfield, Harrow, Haringey, Hillingdon, Hounslow and Richmond.
We offer the following range of services to help blind, partially sighted or deaf-blind people.
Rapid Response Service
We provide one-to-one support for people newly diagnosed with a sight impairment. We provide information, advice and guidance for clients according to their needs.
Home Visiting Service
Our team of volunteers and support workers can advise you on living independently in your own home. We provide friendship, support and practical assistance around the house.
Employment Service
Our employment service provides advice to those looking to return to work. We equip people with the skills and confidence to successfully apply for jobs and to develop their career.
Training Services
Braille and I.T. Training
Our I.T. and Braille training provide skills to help you in accessing information and services, allowing you to read braille and access online resources as well as using email.
Resource Centres
Our mobile and our local resource centres allow you to get advice as well as allowing you to try out specialised equipment and technologies for the home and when out-and-about.
Midsight Services
We provide information help desks in local hospital eye clinics providing counselling, support, advice and information for those coming to terms with a visual impairment.
