Description of activity

Bugzi is a small indoor powered wheelchair designed and manufactured by MERU to enable young children to explore and learn about their environment. It comes with the Active Design Mini Caps seat and tray together with a range of different control options to suit a child’s particular skills.

Bugzi is designed for disabled children aged from 18 months. There is no upper age limit however there is a weight restriction of 25kgs. We currently provide Bugzies to children aged 2 to 8 who have Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, and a range of non-neurological conditions who live in the UK.

How does the Bugzi loan Scheme Work?

We provide you with a Bugzi, normally on the day of the assessment for you to take home. We require a returnable deposit of £100 and ask that you attend reviews and return Bugzi at the end of the loan period so that Bugzi can be refurbished and provided for the next family. We currently have 45 Bugzies in our loan fleet.

To apply, if you are the parent or guardian, we ask that you complete the form with your supporting clinician – usually your Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist.
