Virtual Youth Group - discord and Minecraft
A virtual youth group where we connect with young people online through discord and Minecraft!
Minecraft is a video game where players can build and create their own worlds using various types of blocks. The main purpose of the game is to build and explore! There are two main game modes, Survival and Creative. We are using the Survival mode which means players must find their own building supplies and food.
Our server is a place where you can create, build, have fun and hang out with friends. It can be accessed at every day between 9am and 10pm and we have weekly minecraft sessions on Wednesdays from 5:30-7:30 where our youth workers are online.
For safeguarding reasons, it is a closed group, but if you, or someone you know would like to connect with us through Discord, then sign up using the form or link on the Oxygen website

Is it safe?
We are ensuring that our use of these platforms is in line with the latest advice and guidance on digital youth work around best practice and safeguarding. All of our staff and volunteers are DBS checked and have undergone approved Safeguarding training. We have taken many precautions to ensure the realm is safe. We use a whitelist which means only players approved by Oxygen staff can access the server. Players will be able to claim land as we have a plugin called Grief Prevention, so they can create and build structures without worrying about it being destroyed by other players.
