Anti-Bullying Week 2023 will take place from 13 November to 17 November. Organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance, the week is marked annually to encourage young people, parents, carers, teachers, to stand up to bullying throughout the year.
The theme this year is Make a Noise About Bullying, and it was chosen following a consultation with teachers and pupils who wanted to feel empowered to do something positive to counter the hurt that bullying causes.
Research shows that experiencing bullying can have a significant impact on a child’s life well into adulthood. By having discussions about what bullying means to us and what we can do to stop it, we can tackle the hurt and unite against bullying.
To consider the steps we can all take together, the Anti-Bullying Alliance has compiled a selection of resources to make noise about bullying:
- For parents and carers, there is a downloadable pack to bring Anti-Bullying Week to life at home and encourage daily conversation about bullying, no matter the child’s age.
- For schools, there are free teaching resources and themed assemblies for both primary and secondary settings.
- Young people, adults and even pets can get involved in Odd Socks Day on 13 November to celebrate what makes us all unique.
