Carers Week 2023: Ryan's Story

Meet 13-year-old Ryan, a young carer who looks after his type 1 diabetic mum. Hear from Ryan on what it’s like to be a young carer and the support he receives from local charity, Crossroads Care, one of the selected beneficiaries of the 2023/24 Richmond Voluntary Fund. The Voluntary Fund is an independent charitable trust that has been set up to give the local community the opportunity to donate to local organisations making a difference to the lives of vulnerable people in the borough. Crossroads Care Richmond and Kingston upon Thames is a registered charity that provides specialist, high-quality, bespoke home and community care and support services that give Carers and their cared for peace of mind. For over 35 years in Richmond, Crossroads Care has offered direct care for babies, children, young people with all disabilities, and their families – including behavioural, emotional and/or medical needs. The charity does this by providing respite breaks, sharing information and practical and emotional group support. To find out more, please visit:
