Online support session for parents with Healthwatch - Dentists

Healthwatch Richmond, a local charity funded via Richmond Council and set up by government regulation to be the independent voice for people who use health and social care in Richmond. They are here to help shape, challenge and improve health and social care, based on information they gather from members of the community.

Skylarks and Healthwatch Richmond are together hosting some online events for parent-carers of children with any additional needs of any age from anywhere.

Each event will have a different focus.

Thursday 10th June at 8pm – dentists

Have you tried to access a dentist for your child? Are you having trouble finding an NHS dentist? We want to hear from you! Healthwatch Richmond are looking to improve access to dentistry in the borough. This is your chance to tell them about your experiences trying to access dental care for your child. They will also be available to provide information and advice on finding a dentist.

We will be joined by two specialists:

John Sheldon → Chair Kingston and Richmond Local Dental Committee

Dr. Sanjeevan Satheesan → Lead Clinician, Community Special Care Dentistry, King's College Hospital

You may have questions about:

teeth grinding
sensory sensitivities in the mouth
how to clean teeth
use of sedation
dentists understanding the needs of children with SEND

Please bring these and any other questions with you, to ask the speakers and to share information and ideas with other parents.
