Dramatize Pathway 1 - Creative Independence
Dramatize Pathway 1 - Creative Independence
Within Pathway 1- Creative Independence, each individual will work on their health and well being, social skills, life skills, building upon their confidence and enabling our students to make choices and follow activities that are meaningful to them.
The day is split into two, our morning session is spent accessing the community and our afternoon session focuses on theatrical workshops. Our community trips vary daily and include swimming (including use of a hydro pool), Gym, Sensory Rooms/Gardens, companion cycling, farm and other local activities.
The key areas are:
• Creative Skills – including multi-sensory, art, music. Our objective is to promote self-awareness, improve cognitive skills and reduce anxiety and stress.
• Life Skills - learnt through community trips and workshops. Our aim is to foster the individual goals and interests of our students which will then contribute to their sense of ‘self’.
•
• Community Visits –To promote community participation, engagement, social inclusion and enable independence.
• Healthy Living – Healthy eating, exercise, personal hygiene, enables our students to feel better and enhance long-term health and quality of life.
Within this Pathway, each student shall be working towards our set targets to progress to Pathway 2. Within Pathway 2 the students will be working towards the targets to gain independence, understand time, Money management, travel training, creative skills and voice their preferences and opinions on which skills they would like to focus on.
