Statement from Robert Henderson, Director of Children's Services, regarding SEND Family Voice's decision not to seek a grant from the Department for Education

"Local authorities across the country are struggling with the issue of managing increased demand for services within a context of rising costs and reduced budgets. Both SEND Family Voices (SFV) and Achieving for Children (AfC) work incredibly hard on behalf of children with special educational needs and disabilities and we are committed to working together to provide the best possible support.

"We acknowledge there have been some challenges in the working relationship between SFV and AfC, which we have been proactive in trying to resolve. We already had a meeting arranged this week with representatives of SFV to discuss how we can work together better for the benefit of children in Kingston and Richmond, and we look forward to continuing with our ongoing dialogue."
