Transitioning to adulthood: What to expect from services in Richmond borough

10.30AM to 12PM

RUILS next Family Matters workshop is on Transition services in Richmond borough, and will be delivered by Karl Burgess, Transition Lead for Richmond and Wandsworth, Adult Social Services

Transition into adulthood for all young people can be an exciting time with new opportunities, choices and independence. However it can also be a worrying time as your child moves from familiar services to face new challenges. Join us for an informal discussion, in which Karl will give an overview of transition services in Richmond borough and give an insight into what parents can expect to happen during this process and what it might entail for young people with learning disabilities.

The workshop will also focus on accommodation for young people, including options for supported living and residential care packages. The workshop will be run via Zoom, and there will be an opportunity for questions at the end of the session.

This workshop is suitable for anyone with a child aged 13 plus (year 9) or families who would simply like to know more about what to expect as your child approaches adulthood.
