.

Prevalence of poor mental health in children and young people has increased in recent years and is now linked to safeguarding and mentioned in safeguarding guidance. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown has added another layer of concern for the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people.

Youth Mental Health First Aid training is designed specifically for those who teach, work with, live with or care for young people aged 11 to 18. The training provides information, tools and techniques to promote a young person's mental and emotional wellbeing and to enable participants to support a young person who might be experiencing mental and emotional distress.

This course will teach you to understand what mental health is, how to challenge stigma and understand common mental health issues.

Kingston and Richmond Safeguarding Children Partnership will be running this course as webinars on the following dates:

Thursday 24 September 2020 1.00 to 5.00pm
Tuesday 20 October 2020 1.00 to 5.00pm
