Supporting people with learning disabilities to connect with the community

Our Adult Social Care Service has recently awarded a new contract to an organisation called Community Catalysts.

Community Catalysts is a Social Enterprise and Community Interest Company working across the UK to help people who need care and support to live a good life and to connect and contribute to their community.

In Kingston, Community Catalysts will predominantly be supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to identify their skills, passions and interests. This work will also enable them to use their talents to develop their own activities and groups in the community, with the potential for some people to start and run small businesses or micro enterprises.

Community Catalysts will also work collaboratively with partners across the council and in the voluntary sector to ensure people can make greater use of our community assets and opportunities.

We will update you on how the project is going and share some stories from our community. For more information about Community Catalysts visit www.communitycatalysts.co.uk
